Psalm Tree Designs

One of my very first client projects, I was asked to help create the logo for someones new small business. This would be used on business cards, and simple branding on social media

Ideation and Inspiration

I do not own the rights to these images, they were provided to me by my client

The Client had some ideas of the type of logo she wanted to go with, compiled in a series of established designs, AI generation and placeholder images, that she wanted me to base the final design from

Early Sketches

Psalm Tree Designs is a small business that makes wood crafts paired with bible verses.

“Ive went through several names but I really love Psalm Tree. Everyone finds peace at the beach and I find it in Jesus.”

Early sketches went off of a mixture of the inspiration board and some creative shots in the dark. The main framing point needed to be a circle, and a palm tree needed to be the central focus. Earliest ideals worked on finding a way to incorporate a holy cross into the tree itself, or perhaps fuse the two together. Some ideas were better than others, but all were the stepping stones to reach an end.

The Many iterations

With a direction firmly in place, there came a number of variations. I started off with a main illustration, and changed it step by step, letting the client in on my process. There was a short monochromatic test that sadly didn’t go anywhere, but did help give hierarchal view of the logo marks elements. The sun left along with the clouds and the gradient took on different tones. Finally it was only a matter of choosing the appropriate font.

Final Version

The final design was happily accepted, and used for the owners branding, taking center stage as their facebook logo
