The Theoretical Animated Multiverse

Alright first and foremost to understand Whinot’s lore, you first have to understand what I’ve dubbed ‘the animated multiverse’

Imagine, if you would, an infinite series of square rooms, with no windows or doors. Each one the exact same size from one view, with wildly varying sizes in another. This is the grid layout for the separated multiverse of the cartoon world. Every show has its own room. Some even have similar rooms nearby (the non cannon fan pages everyone makes on insta) but they’re still separate universes. Each universe is exactly as large as what the audience gets to see, and no larger. Everything within is contained by the room itself, which may or may not hold some level of cosmic sentience. Main and important characters are protected, and cannot be erased as they are the life blood of their universe. Without them, or a surrogate (Spinoff) the world ceases to evolve and results in a lack of continuous story. Every show gets a universe. Every universe gets a room. And there is little to no overlap.

The lines between these rooms is a network of halls we call ‘non-canon’. It’s the space beyond the fourth wall where nothing is cannon whatsoever, and concepts, ideas, and artifacts often flow, never causing any harm to these universes. It can however be quite difficult to navigate. There is at-least 1 exit into ‘Non-Canon’ in every cartoon. practically invisible wormholes known as ‘Plot Holes’. These 4th dimensional holes connect directly to Non-Canon and allow for the passage of concepts and artifacts between them, thus giving us the phenomena of ‘Easter Eggs’. Universes can even become branched or entangled through Crossovers, but are unlikely to have any major impact.

Finally, we must discuss ‘Toon-Force’ almost every single universe within the animated multiverse, holds onto the core concept of animation, which of course is the idea of ‘breaking reality’ For those who are unfamiliar with ‘ToonForce’ it is an animated character's ability to completely defy the laws of science, nature, and physics. Bugs bunny, looney tunes shenanigans in its purest form. Almost every universe has some amount of toon force within it, and it is what controls their own laws of physics, and it can be measured in a ratio of ToonForce:Reality. For this reason, no comedically dangerous acts such as dynamite play or Anvil head smashing should ever take place within a universe such as Bobs Burgers, as any character within a universe with such a low amount of ToonForce will be severely harmed if not killed in the process. Classic Toons’ who follow and appear in worlds of ‘RubberHose’ levels of ToonForce are typically far more skilled and can train to be better in the art of breaking the laws of reality.

And finally, we can talk about Whinot, and the story I have made for him thus far.

Whinot is a modern remix of a classic Rubber Hose, Inkwell, Toon’. He wears clothes, looks slightly more human-esk, and has slightly more detail. His skin is gray because like all of the Inkwell variety, his blood is pure ink. Whinot was created into a world with no story. No plot. No set up. Not even a location. For this reason, upon his creation, his universe had nothing to go off of, and rather than contain a universe so small that it would likely implode, it overcorrected and expanded at infinitum, essentially becoming a void space, or a ‘Sandbox’. This is why although you may SEE a horizon and the hint of a wall in the void, you will die long before you get 1 billionth of a percentage closer to it. His personality existed, and it was very clear he was the ‘main character’. So within the void did come a ‘few’ things. His desk setup, art supplies, computer, basic living room items, food and what have you. It can be easy to lose track of them, due to the fact that the void is infinitely large. Because no story existed, Whinot was alone, and as he was coded to be a part of the inkwell variety, 0 planning went into the laws of anything. As such, Whinots empty void has the single highest ToonForce percentage, in a Ratio measure, the ToonForce:Reality ratio being 100:0.

Now, I’ve brought it up a few times now, that ‘Almost’ every single universe in the cartoon multiverse has a level of ToonForce within it. Think with me if you will. If every series has its own universe, and a series is simply what we, the viewer, see on the other side of the 4th wall, we are but equals. One half and another separated by this wall, each containing rules of science, character, and canon.

And so, reality itself is a part of the Animated Multiverse.  There is no main character, hence why everyone has a story, and no story lasts more than an absolute maximum of 124 years. The real world has a ToonForce:Reality ratio scale of 0:100. Whinot’s existence is at the exact opposite end of the spectrum, as the real world. Because he has no rules whatsoever, Whinot is Beyond the power of other cartoon characters, and as such he is beyond the very reach of the fourth wall. And he’s so very lonely. He utilizes the ‘Plot Holes’ within his void to fish out artifacts from canceled series to use at his leisure, like a scavenger going dumpster diving in all the right spots. Outside of that, he’s managed to adapt one ’Plot Hole’ to be utilized much like a streaming service, watching the inhabitants of the multiverse live their lives. And from this, came the creation of the Jumbo Multiversal Remote Control, bringing the power of ultimate toon force at his fingertips. Some characters were created far smarter than others and are self aware. Others don’t grasp or dare know the reality that they are cartoon characters. But Whinot watches them all, and makes friends as he spies on their lives.(even if some consider him to be a bit of a stalker for this)

In an odd way, Whinot may be the single most intelligent cartoon character in existence. Because he was able to learn the ultimate truth. EVERYONE is nothing but a sentient series for someone else to enjoy. All characters may be a work of fiction. But as reality itself is on the exact same level as the rest of the animated multiverse, fiction is little more than a difference between one universe and another.

He is far more self aware than the ‘Real’ human race.
